Whether you’re an avid skateboarder or not, there’s a good chance you have heard of the new legendary Chad Caruso. This dude is epic and will be a “Guinness World Record Holder for the fastest crossing of America on a skateboard,” according to 13NewsNow. He began his journey skateboarding across the entire United States from Venice Beach, California to Virginia Beach.
Chad says on his GoFundMe page that his 3,000-mile trek is to raise money for addiction awareness. “25% of the money raised will be donated to Natural High, a drug prevention nonprofit that inspires and empowers youth to find their natural high and develop the skills and courage to live life well,” he explains.
I don’t know if Chad realizes he has brought inspiration to those of us that long for the simple things and doing something we love. He literally left with two outfits, along with a few essential items that could fit in his backpack, and took off. He is not only a skateboarding legend; he is a minimalist master.
This is one of the most eye-opening experiences you can witness. What do we really need in this life to embrace it and live it to the fullest, and how much are materialistic things holding us down? Why are we sucked into this cycle of thinking that more is better when the truth of the matter is that less is more.
Less stuff means less debt and stress and a whole lot more freedom. So, I applaud Chad for his amazing accomplishments and my husband and I have thoroughly enjoyed watching the journey. Check out Chad’s YouTube channel; you will not be disappointed!
